RAID Recovery
RAID Servers have become the most valuable asset for any business firm and should be treated accordingly. A RAID can represent several hunderd gigabytes, or even terabytes of data and thousands of dollars time and information.
If you are facing data loss situation from a RAID, or are unable to retrieve your data from these data storage systems, please DO NOT attempt to recover it on your own.
Even if your IT department is the best group of techs in the world, PLEASE call us to at a minimum make an image of your hard drives. Then let your IT guys attempt a recovery. Quite often, it has been our experience that the attempt fails or corrupts the data even more. It is not uncommon to find out that the order of the hard drive have changed or a new stripe created in the feverish attempt to save their jobs trying to get the data back.
When this happens, we at least have an image of the hard drives and can attempt to recover the data in our labs.

Common RAID Failure Errors
RAID recovery procedures involve determining the damage, source of the problem, and how much data can be extracted. For serious failure, this may involve careful disassembly and extensive manual repair in our clean room. Our lab supports RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 2, RAID 3, RAID 4, RAID 5, RAID 0+1, RAID 1+0, and RAID 5+0.
We use complex data recovery methods to safely and securely restore your business-critical data and mission-critical files from the following types of data loss:
- Hardware conflicts
- Software corruption
- RAID controller failure
- Rebuild failure
- Damaged striping
- Multiple drive failure (when multiple drives go offline)
- RAID array or volumes that won't mount after a server crash
- Configuration corruption
- Addition of incompatible drives
- Software or operating system upgrades

RAID Failure And Data Loss
Recreating data from scratch is
estimated to cost between $2,000 and
$8,000 per MB
72% of businesses that suffer
major data loss disappear within 24 months

Our former Server
Admin told us that
our RAID would
protect our data,
even if a hard
drive fails. Great.
But... we had a
multiple hard drive
failure due to
a electrical storm
in our area. Faced
with the possibility
of loosing all
of the corporate
data, custom applications,
e-mail, hr information...
basically our entire
company's life
gone due to some
lightning was a
bit overwhelming.
Everyone in management
was on edge and
wanted a solution,
not more BS. Data
Recovery Florida
worked with us
to courier our
hard drives to
them. After providing
them the details
on the order of
the drives, they
spent the next
18 hours (according
to my records)
getting our data.
I'm not sure how
they did it, but
aside from some
doc files, which
were open at the
time, I'd say we
had a 99% recovery!
Management was
pleased and we
now closely watch
our RAID, its
health, and the
weather.
